PTDF Website Updated
December 2007

|
The PTDF website was updated today with new
features being added including this news section. Another areas that
may interest prospective scholars is the newly updated MSc course
page which includes links to course details.
Also the PTDF Governmental website has now gone
live. You can find information regarding the scholarship as well as
other work that PTDF is currently carrying out.

Applications for 2008/09
October/November 2007 |

The PTDF application forms for the Overseas
Scholarship Scheme were released in October in Nigeria. The deadline
for submitting the forms has since past and the PTDF are currently
processing the forms.

Arrival of New Students
September 2007 |
|
September saw the arrival of the first scholars of the 2007/2008
academic year. With over 100 MSc scholars and over 30 new PhD
scholars arriving to begin courses all over the UK. |

Induction Programme in Abuja
August 2007 |
|
The PTDF Induction programme took place in Abuja on the 4th-6th of
August. Members from the Univation team travelled out to take
part in the induction. Whilst in Nigeria, Margaret and Sam met with
the new scholars, as well as the PTDF management. |

PTDF Visit March 2007 |
|
Alhaji Kabir A. Mohammed oon,
the recently appointed Executive Secretary to the PTDF travelled to
Aberdeen with other members of the PTDF to meet with management of
Univation and the “OSS” team.
During his visit the Executive Secretary also met with Professor Mike Pittilo,
Principal of The Robert Gordon University and a number of current
scholars studying at RGU and the University of Aberdeen.

During the visit to Aberdeen by
the PTDF
staff to hand over this years successful application forms to
Univation, the opportunity was taken to visit two universities
(Heriot Watt University and the University of Birmingham) who
participate in the OSS scheme. The PTDF met with academics and OSS
scholars and was pleased to hear that both staff and scholars where
extremely happy.
