Abdulwaheed Suleiman Ahmed was one of the first scholars to travel to the UK under the PTDF OSS. During his studies in MSc Instrumental Analytical Sciences at RGU he learned about the latest techniques in oilfield chemistry.

After graduating with distinction in December 2002 the PTDF agreed to fully fund Abdulwaheed for a further three years to enable him to continue his study at RGU for PhD, which he has since finished and graduated. His research focussed on environmental engineering issues for the Oil, Gas and Solid Minerals business, with specific emphasis on oil spill.

Abdulwaheed said "The chance to come to the Europe's oil capital to study has been a fantastic opportunity. I will return to Nigeria highly qualified and be able to use my new skills to help develop the country's oil business.
